Grand Opening: Shodokan Aikido Headquarters Dojo in East Japan

In April 2026, the Shodokan Aikido Federation will open its permanent dojo in Kokubunji, Tokyo, serving as a central hub for the East Japan region.

Whether you have martial arts experience, are curious about Shodokan Aikido, wish to improve your health, learn self-defense, or enroll your children or grandchildren, Shodokan Aikido welcomes everyone. Regardless of age, gender, or experience, anyone with a passion for learning can join us.

Fees and Trainee (Visitor Member) Information

【1. Costs for Regular Members】

■ Initial & Annual Fees

Enrollment Fee	10,000 JPY	Due upon enrollment.
Annual Membership Fee	6,000 JPY	Due annually in the month of enrollment.
Sports Safety Insurance	Adults: 2,000 JPY / Junior High & under: 800 JPY / 65+: 1,200 JPY	Renewed every April regardless of enrollment date. (Mandatory)

Family Discount: Enrollment and annual fees are half-price for the second and subsequent family members living in the same household.

■ Monthly Fees (Pre-paid System)

Payments are processed in the month prior (e.g., May fees are debited in April). Next month’s confirmed fee is announced on the 13th of the current month.

Youth Division (Junior)
- Once a week: 8,000 JPY
- Twice a week: 12,000 JPY
Adult Division
- 4 classes per month: 10,000 JPY
- Open Course (Unlimited): 15,000 JPY
- Self-Defense Only Course: 8,000 JPY
Private Lesson Fee (Adult Members)
- 5,000 JPY per 60-minute session.
- Note: Private lessons are held upon request and subject to instructor approval. Fees/times may vary based on the number of participants.

■ Miscellaneous Expenses (Optional)

Fees for promotional exams (testing/registration), tournament entry, seminars, and social gatherings will be announced in advance. Participation is entirely optional.

【2. Trainees (Visitor Members)】

The Tokyo Dojo welcomes visitors who are not regular members. Admission is subject to specified procedures and approval by the Dojo Head.

■ Membership Categories

Regular Member: Affiliated with Tokyo Dojo; trains continuously.
Registered Affiliate Member: Members belonging to other groups affiliated with the Shodokan Aikido Federation.
General External Member: All others (non-federation).

■ Visitor Fees (Per Class)

Class Pass Validity: 2 months from the date of first use.
Private Lessons (60 min): Affiliate: 7,000 JPY / General: 10,000 JPY (Consult at least 1 week in advance).

【3. Payment Methods】

The Dojo uses the “Kaihi Pay” automated system for convenience and efficiency.

Primary Methods (Monthly Fees):
- Credit Card (Recommended)
- Bank Transfer (Automatic Debit)
- Cash is accepted only in exceptional cases and may incur an administrative fee.
One-time Payments (Exams/Seminars):
- Credit Card, Convenience Store Payment, or Cash.

【4. Insurance for Visitors】

All visitors must confirm their insurance status before participating.

If insured: Coverage applies if you have “Individual Activity Compensation Type (Wide Course)” Sports Safety Insurance.
If uninsured: You must read and sign a written pledge (waiver) provided by the Dojo. Participation is not permitted without a signature.
